Little Folk

Household goblins, spirits of hearth and road, forgotten little souls dwelling in hidden corners, insidious demons captured inside tobacco boxes, devouring larvae, and small —seemingly helpless— heroes who confront cannibalistic ogres: the Little Folk can assume countless forms. Some are friendly and others far less so, some familiar and others hostile, but they are a constant presence in oral tradition. This category serves as an umbrella for a remarkably diverse collection of beings, different from one another yet united by a single trait: they are small, sometimes minuscule, perhaps even invisible, like a hallucination, like a breath scarcely breathed.
